Blackdamp

A turn-based dive into an abandoned mine, six floors deep, where lantern oil is time, light, and life at once. The genre's oldest complaint is the unfair death, so every floor is served with a certificate: an exhaustive proof that the shaft is reachable with oil to spare, every gate's key comes before it, no gang can converge on the route, and the blood the trip costs fits in your veins. The seed is random. The fairness is not. Your whole run is a code anyone's browser can replay and verify.

TypeScript · per-floor fairness proofs · verifiable run codes

every floor served with a proof it can be survived · your run is a replayable code

How to play

  • arrows, WASD, or tap beside the miner to walk; tap the miner to wait
  • every turn burns one oil, moving or not: the lamp's circle is your budget
  • walk into monsters to fight: no dice, exact damage both ways
  • gates open with winch keys, rubble clears with dynamite, J eats jerky
  • out of oil, the dark gives you six turns to find more
  • the daily dive is the same certified mine for everyone

Changelog

  • 2026-07-19·The mine opens: six certified floors, three monster habits with no dice anywhere, the daily seam, and runs that end as verifiable replay codes. Behind it, two instruments: the prover (every floor ships with an exhaustive fairness certificate covering oil, keys, blood, and gangs) and the mortician (bot archetypes living 450 full dives: the certificate-walker survives 99.3%, the fool 14%, and every death has a name).
